Requirements
Veterinary consent must be received before treatment can take place.Under the Veterinary Act 1966, this is a legal requirement. This will normally be done by the owner contacting the vet. I will ask the handler to sign that permission has been granted.
Horses
A handler who knows the horse/pony, its history and is capable to do a trot up
A flat area of 20metres
Somewhere quiet and flat to treat in, ideally out of extreme weather
A quiet area to treat with minimal distractions
If an evening appointment, then adequate lighting is required for both the trot up and treatment area
Dogs
A handler who knows the dog, its history and is capable to do a run up
The dog on a collar and lead
A quiet area to treat with minimal distractions
